Dark Wars, page three, a sample of a couple of skits I’ve been drawing over the past few days. This one I’ve done today in a couple of hours… still not complete.
I’ve been having a serious block with art lately. Over the last few months I’ve had abseloutly no drive, no motivation nor interest/pleasure to draw (for myself, I mean)… and much to my horror when I went back to my wacom recently I found that with the vanishing of my motivation, so did my skill go down the drain
All the lack of productivity is starting to really put me down (though I must admit it’s not entirely my fault, I’ve been overwhelmed with work lately, and nothing worthwhile… kills the brain.)
However it looks like RP is the one thing that fuels me, specifically text-based as then you’re forced to use your imagination without the influence of other artwork/cg vids..etc. The above is plain evidence that it’s working for me. It’s a quick approach to illustrating a graphic novel, sketchy and messy, but regardless point is I’M DRAWING! Taken from a scene I’ve RPed on a forum using my favorite character, I can go on and on drawing is, if it wasn’t for the fact that I have to stop and get back to work >8( booo.
I’m thinking of continuing it until I get bored of the storyline… then I might check out the RP boards you guys posted here and check out the stories there for further motivation. So that’s why I’m all curious and nosey.

On text-based RP forums I mean. I was just curious.
I’ve Rp-ed a couple of times, but usually on boards of the same genre (Fantasy. Preferably dark.) and was curious of just how many people out there do spend time on text-based RP forums writing their stories and creating characters, and what genre is most popular? Fantasy ?Sci-fi? ..etc.
So show me what you do on your spare time, and add a link to the forums too. I wanna check them out.

I actually made a naga char there based on your naga concepts, because they're awesome.
I don't have a huge preference for genre. So long as I can get into the characters I'm happy. I tend to be less comfortable in a 'strict' environment simply because I have trouble remembering all the rules and such (magic irritates me for such reasons).

I love RPing, though--text based, anyways. Usually I do script format with people over IM. That makes it sound pretty childish, but we focus more on conversations between characters than actions--and when it gets to actions, they're as detailed as ever. It's just...quicker. For me, anyways.
When I'm not doing that, I RP on LJ with a character journal. I love doing this. Right now, I'm inbetween RPs, but I was in one called Discedo ([link]) where I played Torn from the Jak games. I looooooooove playing Torn. But, I'm not there anymore. Come August, I'm going to apply to a comm called Edensphere ([link]) where I'd be playing my original character Herz. Aaand maybe returning to Disc. I hope. I miss Disc D:

I like multifandom the best, because it throws the characters for loops, especially those from the Jak Universe, from which I play mostely--I've tried several other fandoms, though, including Legend of Zelda and Tsubasa. I'm looking forward to trying to play the Prince of Persia too, but, uh, ANYWAYS. I also like my Rps to have freedom and structure, not freedom at the expense of structure. It's a huge turn-off RP-wise if I have to join before finding out what the hell I'm throwing my character into--something several RPs on LJ think is just the neatest thing ever to do.

Forums are troublesome, as you need to organize many people and yes timezones are troublesome too.
Playing 1 on 1 is cooler cause a lot of problems disappear and your characters can't get ignored. XD
And best of all we're rping in writing now, so everything stays (i rped in speech before). So we've written a 700 pages story so far. XD And we're not even over the half of what we have planned on the plot. Mostly i'm the game-master in this one, because i made up most of the world, the rules and the plot, while each of us invented our own characters. 8D This rp is of mixed genres, it has elements of almost anything, except sci-fi XDDD
Oh and another thing i tried rping in reality, that is i dunno how it's called in English - playing games with about 10 people in a flat. Two were sci-fi games and 3rd was fantasy. I loved all. 8D Even though i got killed in the last one XD But at least i managed to summon a demon before, who later killed everyone else. XDDD (i was a mage you see)

She has her own original world, I have a few of mine, and somehow that works out. Strange what a connection you can get...hell, I can't go to sleep before I'm quite sure out chars are gonna be okay <.< *addicted to the emotional side of it*
The characters I either had before or come to me in independent stories as I go, and they're all very dear to me.
So far the setting and stories have been mostly fantasy/light sci-fi/regular family life/postapocalyptic/foresty XD
demons, angels, furies, all kickass normals.. but that sounds too damn shallow XD
